Perinatal mental health services are a key priority area across London. Across the eight Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) within North West London, it is also an agreed priority area within the emerging Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. Work has been undertaken to map current provision, identify gaps in services, and is overseen by the Perinatal Innovation and Design Group (NWL PID), chaired by the Perinatal Clinical Lead. The group has served to continue to raise the profile and importance of commissioning good quality perinatal services, as it is evident that provision varies across the area.
Like Minded, the North West London Collaboration of CCGs (NW London CCGs) mental health programme, brought to together a range of key stakeholders across Central and West London, to develop an agreed path of care to meet the perinatal needs of the local population, and to identify any gaps/barriers. The Perinatal Mental Health Workshop was held on Tuesday 19 January 2016. The workshop’s key stakeholder attendees from across NW London included:
- Central London Clinical Commissioning Group
- West London Clinical Commissioning Group
- Central and North West London Foundation Trust
- Hammersmith and Fulham Council
- City of Westminster Council
The workshop aimed to will build on the outputs and outcomes from the initial perinatal workshop (held on 16 December 2015) and informed by work already undertaken by people with experience of the services.
